This is an original Volvo 240 sedan and coupe trunk courtesy light. Each car from 1980-1989 got one of these. 1990-1993 year models seemed to have gotten an almost identical light except it used a 2 pin connector instead. So these will not be a direct fit after 1989. If you wanted to add this as a second light to any 1980-1993 240, you could absolutely do that. Even for the 1990-1993 models. No damage at all.
