Here is what I believe to be a 6 VOLT VOLTAGE REGULATOR. I am not sure of the manufacturer but I would guess it to be original equipment or vintage aftermarket. On the top of the metal cover it reads "ARM", "FIELD", "BAT". It came out of a parts collection from a gentleman who owned several Packards from the 1930's - 1950's.
