Universal In-Tank Fuel Pump Mounting Kit

This "In-Tank" electric fuel pump mounting kit was originally designed for use with our Landcruiser rear fuel cells, but now that we are no longer making those fuel cells, it's about time we let the rest of the world have use of this dandy universal kit. This kit will require that buyer has a 3 3/4" by 6 1/2" flat area on top their tank (size of provided aluminum top plate) in order to facilitate use of included top plate, gasket, and inside tank threaded bolt ring. Bolt ring will be the templet for cutting hole and drilling bolt hole pattern into top of your tank. Once the DIY hole is cut, the 4" diameter bottom fuel catching/holding cup (see 5th photo above) will slide down through the hole you cut since the entire kit (with pump positioned loosely) will be assembled at that time. Bottom cup keeps fuel at the pump to prevent starvation during gas sloshing moments. Both provided 6AN bulkhead elbow fitting mount into smaller holes in the top plate, with brass hose barbs pointing downward inside the tank, with fitting that will go to fuel pump also routing through top hole in the aluminum strap (locks aluminum strap to bottom of  top aluminum plate, which will be inline with pump mounted onto the aluminum strap). This kit does NOT include the 6AN brass hose barbs for the exterior/top of tank (as shown above, shown for an example only), buyer to provide needed 6AN hose barbs or 6AN hard plumbing option. One hose will route straight down onto top of  pump, the other hose will be a fuel return line that dumps gas directly down into the bottom cup, see clamp for return hose inside bottom cup (see 5th and last photo above). Long screws have been provided for mounting "buyer supplied" sending unit into larger hole in the aluminum top lid (not previously drilled for sending unit choice). These screws have been provided extra long for use with the thick Centroid Products electronic sending units (shown in 1st photo above, not included), buyer could trim screws down in length if using a standard/thinner sending unit. If buyer's tank has interior baffles, it will be easier to use the Centroid electronic sender because of no swinging float to consider. If using a sending unit with float on a swing arm, buyer must pay attention to bolt holes drilled into the provided aluminum top plate, i.e. routing float away from interference with interior tank baffles, ideally with float travel remaining fore and aft on the center line of the tank where fuel depth is the most constant during sloshing. Kit includes two 10-32 insulated electrical fittings for pump wiring (see 7th photo above). Buyer can drill the needed mounting holes into the aluminum top plate for mounting the electrical fitting, or anywhere in the roof of a polyethylene fuel cell. NOTE: bottom cup can not pass down through top hole with electric fuel pump previously clamped to aluminum strap, so once cup enters tank, fuel pump can then be clamped onto bottom end of aluminum strap (down inside the bottom cup) before lowering cup down to tank interior floor. NOTE: most electric fuel pumps come with a bottom fuel filter/screen. You must choose a pump that has a small enough bottom filter to fit down inside the provided 4" diameter bottom cup (see last 2 photos above). NOTE: length of aluminum strap is 10" long (depth of our original fuel cell), buyer can DIY shorten or add length as needed.
