Speedometer Gear Ratio Adapter Drive Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra Cougar Fairlane

Selling one used genuine working OEM Made in USA .8797 ratio speedometer adapter drive.   OEM universal fit replacement part for Ford vehicles with Toploader manual transmission and C6 automatic transmission.   Complete with NOS-pinion gear and metal pinion gear retaining clip.   Correct part for all Ford Mustangs Shelbys Torino and Mercury Cougars with manual or C6 automatic transmissions and low differential gear ratios made from 1964 to 1973.   Also the factory correct part for Ford commercial trucks with C6 automatic transmissions made from 1974 to 1982 (In 1983 the original part was phased out on Ford commercial trucks and replaced with a hall effect sender to run a speedometer with an electrically driven pointer needle).   These reducers continued to be produced as replacement parts until 1989, when all the original tooling was discarded after the USA Stewart Warner factory closed. CBI made a slightly different version of this Ford part from 1989 to around 1995. A hard to find part. If your tires have been replaced with aftermarket tires having a different circumference from stock Ford size tires, you will require a different ratio to make your speedometer accurate. The reducer has been confirmed to have a 12% reduction at the output shaft (There are approximately 8.8 rotations of the output shaft when the input shaft is rotated 10 times).  Heavy duty housing with threaded-in fittings, not like the light duty pot metal factory installed units with pressed-in fittings that fall out over time and allow the gears to fall out. Standard Ford transmission probe and 16 tooth plastic pinion gear are included.   The drive can be used with any other OEM Ford plastic pinion gears of your choice.
