These German Pierburg made dome top fuel pumps have been professionally rebuilt and restored. Brand new OEM ethanol rated Effbe diaphragms are installed on the original diaphragm assemblies. All the hard steel parts are inspected for wear. Worn parts are replaced. If the parts pass, they are stripped of their old zinc plating. Damaged screws are replaced with correct new cheese head screws. The steel parts are then re bright zinc plated for the like delivered new appearance and corrosion protection. All the castings are mounted on fixtures. The mating surfaces are then machine leveled on a milling machine for a leak free seal. The lower diaphragm assemblies are pre-loaded to spec during assembly using an original VW preload tool. The brass outlet tube/s are removed, cleaned and then pressed back in with a retaining compound so they won't come out again. These rebuilt German Pierburg fuel pumps are basically like new now and will last for decades if the engine is run regularly. This style German Pierburg dome top fuel pumps were originally installed from 1962 through 1971 on buses. They were installed on bugs from 1962 through 1965. These original German PIerburg fuel pumps are vastly superior to anything 'new' sold today. They put out the correct 3 PSI fuel pressure. They have internal fuel filter screens. The rocker pins are secured with "C" clips so they don't back out like many of the new fuel pumps sold today.The big issue with many of the new fuel pumps sold today is the wild variance in fuel pressure they can put out. Everyone who bolts a fuel pump on their engine should check the fuel pressure of that pump. Many new fuel pumps put out 6 psi or more. This creates all sorts of issues with the carb/carbs.These fuel pumps also make our VW engines look factory correct in appearance.I provide a two year warranty on all rebuilt fuel pumps.
