Good used lower alternator bolt . This bolt mounts directly to the aluminum bracket that's attached to the engine block. Bolt length is approximately 5 1/4". Will fit a variety of Mercedes which came with om615 om616 and om617 engines such as: 240D & 300D 300CD 300D 300GD (some models) 300SD (w116 and w126 chassis) 300TD (and may fit other unique engines/models that have the same tensioner part number listed above). If any doubt, contact the seller for verification. RETURNS/EXCHANGES: Seller manufactures this product and stands behind his product and will provide a lifetime warranty for it, provided that some simple steps are observed during the installation/removal and tensioning/loosening of the alternator belts (see below). Seller will accept exchanges as long as the part has not been damaged due to improper installation, such as cross threading incorrect nuts onto either of the threads of the tensioner bolt. I will not accept returns due to abuse or failure to follow my installation tips (below). These tips are based on over 10 years experience servicing on these cars. INSTALLATION TIPS (read and follow these or warranty is VOID): Lack of understanding how to install/remove the alternator from the alternator bracket, and failure to loosen all three alternator bolts/nuts that hold it to the engine block during tensioning and loosening of the alternator belt(s) are the top reasons why this tensioner bolt bends and needs to be replaced. If you (or your mechanic) attempts to tension/loosen the alternator belt without sufficiently loosening all 3 bolts, the tensioner bolt will bend. If your tensioner bracket is damaged, the tensioner bolt may bend. The seller sells rebuilt tensioner brackets and hardware, should you need it, or have any doubts (inquire). To remove/install this tensioner, you absolutely MUST remove the alternator with its upper steel bracket as one assembly. Once removed, the large tab that is holding the tensioner on the bracket) (facing the front of the vehicle) must be bent down so it is parallel to the ground. This is best done in a vice with channel lock plyers. Then your old alternator tensioner slides out and you can remove the tensioner bolt. You should inspect the tensioner bolt and make sure its threads are good by running the new tensioner bolt through it BY HAND. Do not force it! If it does not go in smoothly by hand, then you'll need to run a tap through its threads to clean them up, or order a replacement tensioner bolt from me. Failure to do so will cause the threads on the new tensioner bolt to strip. Installation of the tensioner bolt is done with the alternator outside of the vehicle and is reverse of removal with the exception of (a) I do suggest you lubricate the threads on the tensioner bolt threads with some light oil, and (b) you'll also need to use your channel lock plyers to bend the outer bracket tab back up to 90 degree angle. If you have any questions or concerns, the seller is available to answer installation/removal questions to buyers who have bought the product.
