This was possible because each of these models received their specific PROM (also known as chip) from the factory. In other words, you can't simply swap a used PCM from one vehicle to the next unless you replace the PROM with the one from your vehicle.** **Our computers are sold without the PROM. When you receive the computer you will need to remove the two bolt cover from your computer and remove the PROM from your computer and install it into the replacement computer No special tools are required to do this.
