If you have the old type lower tube and it is leaking the best option is the new style tube along with the use of this new heavy-duty water pump nipple. Please contact me with any questions prior to your purchase.** **Details:** This is the new style, redesigned water pump nipple for use with new style coolant tube which is necessary for the PI intake manifold install on early (96-98 non-PI engines). This part also fits the 1999 and up Mustang and other 4.6L Ford engines that use this new style redesigned part. It also must be used along with the new style lower tube that connects from the water pump to the heater connection at the firewall. The other parts are available separately and also in some more complete kits if you need some of these other items. As you can see in the picture of the nipple, it also comes with a set of the high temperature o-rings installed. It is actually cheaper to purchase the entire nipple than just the o-rings from Ford! Installing a PI intake manifold on your 96-98 Mustang 2V SOHC Mustang GT has been shown to increase power by 15-20 HP! This water pump nipple is one of the parts that needs to be changed during your PI upgrade. Read below for additional items needed. I carry most of the accompanying parts individually and in kit form to assist in the installation and conversion including the intake manifold. This listing is for the water pump nipple that is located behind the water pump housing. This is the new style nipple. It is much heavier than the sheet metal tube in the non-PI setup. It also comes with new o-rings installed. The water pump tube or heater tube that runs under the manifold attaches to this new style nipple. This is needed to install the PI intake manifold into an engine that originally came with the non-PI cylinder heads. The non PI WP nipple and tube is different and is located in the way of the new PI intake. You must use these new items to properly install your new PI intake. This intake has the new style aluminum crossover tube. If your engine has the original design plastic crossover tube it is just a matter of time before you start to have trouble with it. Ford changed to this new updated design but used the all plastic non PI intakes from the early 90's. We also carry the non-PI replacement intake manifolds in another listing.
