This is an original oil filter canister for Ford Flathead V8 engines, but it may be for other makes such as Chevrolet. Chrysler , Cadillac, etc. I purchased off a Ford collector but the mounting bracket isn't typical of a fords. I believe it is compatible with both trucks and cars and can be used as a universal fittment between different makes / models. The canister is made of metal . It is a vintage part that looks great.
