Crash data is permanent history that gets stored in the airbag control module after an accident. It is encoded in complex format that cannot be cleared or read by ordinary OBD2 scan tools. If you scan your vehicle with an OBD2 scanner, you may come across an OPDS or OCS code.  The OPDS (Occupant Position Detection System) or OCS (Occupant Classification System) generally refers to a sensor, or a series of sensors, located in the front passenger seat.
