**Reference:** U-2 (slf) **Description:** DAMAGED valve covers removed from a 1970 Dodge D100 series 2wd Sweptline truck. Engine was 383ci. Transmission 727 automatic. DAMAGE: These had rust on the inside of them when removed. They were media blasted to bare steel. During blasting, the bottom of the oil cap, and the inside of the oil cap opening ended up "thin". Metal deteriorated. Oil cap still tightens down tight and can be used this way. But, might be best to replace the oil cap. I don't see any issues with their usage or performace. BUT, they are showing signs of rust that used to be there.
