The piston crowns have carbon staining but no permanent damage. The piston rings are included, but they should be replaced before installation. The piston skirts are generally clean with very light scuffs visible on one or two pistons, and the worst wear can be seen in the photos. The connecting rods are straight and reusable. One wrist pin feels slightly tight, but nothing is seized. Only the piston and rod assemblies are included as shown. No additional hardware is included unless shown in the photos. Production for the "model year" usually begins in September of the previous calendar year, so if you have a 1995 model BMW it will have been produced anywhere between 9/94 - 8/95. Some cars begin their production earlier than September, such as the first year production for a new model. For example, if we say the part fits 04/95 - 99 it will fit those cars with a production date of April 1995 to 1999 model year cars.
