This is a custom manufactured unused billet aluminum thermostat to fit Mercedes 300 series models from the 1950s and early 60s such as the W198 300SL Gullwing coupe and 300SL roadster (to chassis 2513), the W188 300Sc coupe, cabriolet and roadster, the W186 300c Adenauer sedan and cabriolet, and the W189 300d Adenauer sedan and cabriolet (to chassis 1740). It was fabricated by Albrecht Stachel at Brooklyn Motoren Werke in Wisconsin. I bought this around 10-12 years ago from Albrecht but never used it, and it's been stored away ever since. The unit screws apart which allows for changing the thermostat inside the housing, and it's loaded with a 79 deg thermostat. This is particularly useful for gullwings and roadsters, which can overheat in hot weather. A very useful upgrade for your car, never used and ready to install. Contact me to discuss this and any other questions you may have at twoonetwo eightsevenseven onetwofourthree. I have many MB W189 and M189 300d Adenauer parts as well as 108-109 300SEL 6.3 parts that I'm not using, let me know what you need. Final sale, as is, no returns. Happy motoring!
