98-01 VW 02J Gearbox Shift Tower Lower Retainer Cap Pivot Jetta Golf MK4 02A MK3 This Volkswagen 02J 5-speed manual transmission shift tower lower pivot retainer cap was removed from a 2000 MK4 VW Jetta sedan. Part number is 02A 301 252. This cap accepts the solid shift tower shaft unlike the later style shift tower with flat detents. In some cases, this cap may be required when retrofitting MK4 shifter box and rod tower assemblies into 02A transmissions. Stock photos show representative item and condition.
