78-96 Bronco Fuel Tank Pump Sender Access Kit Door 8.5" Plate Cover

**Bronco Fuel Tank Access Kit** This kit covers a hole you cut in the cargo floor of your Bronco for access to the fuel tank, like most modern vehicles have. It is most commonly used on EFI Broncos when changing the electric in-tank fuel pump is necessary, but it's also useful when the level sender fails, or its float sinks, in all '78-96 Broncos. The advantage is that there's no risk of damaging the filler neck, fuel lines, vapor lines, or wiring when removing the access plate as there is when dropping the tank. These are cut from actual Bronco floors, deburred, cleaned, predrilled, and have reusable gum sealant and self-drilling screws included. The bottom is primed so the whole plate is ready for your spray paint to match your truck. DO NOT CUT your floor until you have a plate, so that you can be sure you cut the hole SMALLER than the plate's screw holes. All plates are at least 3 ridges wide, and at least 7" long (this listing is for 8.5" plates), which is plenty of room to disconnect the lines & wiring, and open the tank. With the tailgate carpet threshold removed, the front of the hole should be about 24~25" forward from the rear edge of the cargo floor. Do not cut the spot welds holding the floor to the body crossmember. The rear of the tank hole is about 18" from the floor's rear edge, as the picture with the white square shows. Detailed instructions with progress pics can be found on the SuperMotors image hosting site.  The best tool for cutting is an air chisel, since it makes no sparks, doesn't reach below the floor much, and isn't likely to cut anything else it touches. Drills, hole saws, reciprocating saws, abrasive wheels, and torches are much riskier. A nibbler is very safe, but requires holes to start.
