I have an early big block Chevy distributor in good used condition. The distributor was taken apart and inspected, the bronze bearings are still tight and the shaft is clean with no scoring. This early big block Chevy cast iron distributor has the oil block off. Shaft turns over smoothly. The distributor is in amazing condition for it's age and should be good to go with a new set of points and condenser.
