The pair includes the inlet and exhaust camshafts. About half of the bearing surfaces have score marks. The most substantial scoring is on the exhaust cam, where several surfaces have scores deep enough to catch a passing fingernail. The lobes also have some light wear, but no scoring. Production for the "model year" usually begins in September of the previous calendar year, so if you have a 1995 model BMW it will have been produced anywhere between 9/94 - 8/95. Some cars begin their production earlier than September, such as the first year production for a new model. For example, if we say the part fits 04/95 - 99 it will fit those cars with a production date of April 1995 to 1999 model year cars.
