1978-1980 Porsche 928 Transaxle G-28/03-11 5 Speed Manual Transmission Gearbox

Up for sale is this used transaxle, taken out of a 1980 US model 928 with 130,000 miles. It is in excellent working condition - give your beloved 928 the star treatment with this really nice original transaxle and avoid a frustrating and costly rebuild! This was taken out of the car originally because it was thought to be the source of a rough shifting issue. When a separate transaxle was installed but the problem still persisted, it was discovered that the twin-disc clutch was out of adjustment. This one was then inspected and found to be in excellent condition. A simple adjustment on the intermediate plate and the transmission shifted buttery smooth. If you are looking to replace your transaxle because of a rough or notchy shifting issue, make sure you check this adjustment on your car before buying to make sure your intermediate plate is adjusted properly. This is the G28/03-11 model, which is open diff as opposed to the more rare M220 limited slip. Buy with confidence and give your 928 the TLC it deserves with this excellent transaxle - or swap it into your later model 928 for shorter gearing and quicker acceleration!
