1974 75 76 PONTIAC TRANS AM 400 455 SHAKER AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

**DESCRIPTION** ##### OEM 194-76 Pontiac Trans Am 400 455 Shaker Air Cleaner Assembly. The base has been refinished in low-gloss black to present a period correct image. The oval 6" snorkel is in good condition, feeding air through the functional ThermAC pre-heater, and into a clean base with the factory air deflector. The original AC air temperature sensor is mounted using the factory spring clip and completed with the new black vacuum hoses. The base retains the correct drop required for proper shaker hood clearance; there are minor fish eye marks on the bottom of the base (out sight once installed, but mentioned for clarity).   The exterior is completed with a new air cleaner service decal (RK=75), an excellent ported thermal vacuum valve with clip, new breather filter with clip and adapter, and a complimentary wing nut. The replacement shaker lid is in good condition as well and sits atop a new and correct heavy duty air filter.   As an added value, the assembly includes a Pontiac specific pre-heater elbow, Wittek tower clamp, and correct black aluminized pre-heater hose. This assembly is in good condition and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is a genuine GM part! Many of our parts are available only once - we cannot predict if/when another will become available due to the scarcity of original parts. The old adage "here today, gone tomorrow" applies to many of these unique assemblies. APPLICATIONS This assembly is correct for the following 194-76 models: PONTIAC Trans Am 400 455 4V  While similar in appearance, the 73 did not feature the ported thermal valve on the side. The 78-79 W-72 assemblies featured a different breather filter in a perpendicular orientation; this will fit and work, but requires the use of the earlier style of valve cover breather tube. Note: this will  NOT fit the 301 Pontiac Turbo or 305/350 Chevy 403 Olds engines due to the offset of the shaker scoop, as well as the difference in carburetor flange drop. ##### FITMENT The assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Rochester) with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most aftermarket models (i.e.  Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc..) with the same flange size.
