This is a factory 4 bolt main 350 Small Block Chevy shortblock. This was originally installed in a 1971 Corvette with the LT-1 engine option. The casting number is 3970010 and the casting date is K 24 0 which decodes as November 24th, 1970. In 1971, the only engines that has four bolt mains were the LT-1 350 in Corvettes and Camaro Z/28 models, crate engines, and truck applications. This particular shortblock is a real deal Corvette LT-1 unit! Finding a real deal 1971 4 bolt main block is a difficult task. Finding a true Corvette LT-1 shortblock is unheard of. Don't miss this one! The pad on this block is factory stamped as shown. The V1130CGZ stamp shows this engine was assembled on November 30th, 1970 as a LT1 350 engine for a Corvette backed by a manual transmission. The C11S103583 stamp is the partial VIN of the Corvette this was originally installed in which was VIN 194371S103583 if it was a coupe or 194671S103583 if it was a convertible. This same block was used on Camaro Z/28 LT-1 engine applications with a different code stamped on the pad. This is an awesome engine for a number's matching restoration! This short block is in core condition as shown. This short block consists of the engine block, crankshaft, rods, pistons, and camshaft. The cylinders are .060 overbore and the rotating assembly turns a full 360 degrees. The cylinders have rust and pitting as shown and will need machine work. The pistons are TRW forged units with the part number L 2256 stamped on each piston as shown. The crankshaft is a factory "1182" forged steel unit that has been balanced in 1978 based on the stampings on the crank. The deck surfaces still have the original "broach marks" intact showing the engine decks have never been resurfaced. All threads are in good condition with a no helicoils or thread inserts. I am selling this as a good core for rebuilding. Rebuilding can include cylinder boring/sleeving, crankshaft resurfacing, block resurfacing, piston replacement, rod reconditioning /replacement, etc, etc. This is a great short block to build for performance or restoration. This is simply an awesome original 1971 Corvette LT-1 350 4 bolt main engine short block. Don't miss this awesome chance to own a real deal 1971 350 4 bolt main short block!
