bought this carb along with 35 to 40 others at Hot August Nights Reno swap meet in 2001. FOUND this jewel stashed in mismarked box covered with rags in my shop office shelving. thought i'd sold all the cherry pieces - i have gotten old suddenly and must thin the herd of parts. this one is worthy of real resto like a currently listed fully restored replated gem here on e bay for $700+ and worth it. dont fool with the import cheap copies that are junk. buy real U.S. made and throw a kit in this. get a copy of Doug Roe's Quadrajet manual and learn if you are starting to fool with these controlled fuel spill devices known as carburetors. this model has CG secondary rods and K rod hanger the off idle vent disc is intact and not brittle..vac hose to choke pull off should be changed thats all thanks for checking “Carb is Service Replacement sold by Chevy Dealers. THE OFF IDLE VENT DISC IS NICE. i have not opened this carb other than checking the sec rods and vent. notice no dents in the vent tubes. i checked the choke pull off and replaced it with working part from parts carb along with the sec air valve rod. this carb is worthy of complete restoration like one offered for sale currently, the tip off with service replacement carbs is the julian date code and 0 as first digit of carb # - this was a very popular over the counter part for small block chevys. unusually clean inside and fuel inlet threads and chamber pristine. vacuum port in back threads perfect also - primary throttle bushings have a bit of wear not sloppy yet. this carb was pro rebuilt and stored 25+ years ago”about the seller notes
