1963-1964 PONTIAC 8-LUG FRONT DRUM K.H.49313, EXCELLENT CONDITION

This is a Kelsey Hayes # 49313, correct front drum for 1963-1964 full size Pontiacs. All parts are from California so no rusted, crusty pitted crap. This front drum as you can see in the photos is in excellent condition for being 61years old.  I have a drum micrometer so I can tell you exactly how much liner you have left to turn(cut).Brand new 11 inch drums have a life of .060” MAX that can be removed(turned/cut) before the drum needs to be relined. MAX wear diameter is 11.060”. Going beyond this diameter the drum will overheat & warp affecting your breaking ability. \*\*\*VERY IMPORTANT\*\*\* \*\*\*In the future, when you need to turn(cut) the drum, use a qualified machinist at a reputable machine shop. Tell the machinist to remove as little as possible, make the SMALLEST cuts(.005")on the lathe to TRUE the drum. This will lengthen the LIFE of the drum!!!\*\*\* \*\*\*ONLY use organic shoes, NO metallic shoes. \*\*\* PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO BUY!!! DRUM DETAILS: 1) This particular drums steel liner measures 11.035”, so .035” has been removed & .025" remains on the steel liner. 2) This drum has RIGHT HANDED studs installed on it. 3) The drum has new inner & outer bearing races installed and new inner & outer bearings are included. 4) The drum liner is smooth with no ridges & is within specs and does NOT need to be turned(cut). 5) Look at the photos closely, they are a large part of the description.
