1956 Corvette Saginaw 3 Speed Manual Transmission Real Deal w/ Shifter Mount

This is a real deal original Corvette Saginaw 3 speed manual transmission. This transmission just came from the collection of a life long Corvette collector. This looks to be a true survivor piece so I simply gave it a quick wipe down to check for damage and left it as you see it. Most of these early 3 speed transmissions were swapped for 4 speed or automatic transmissions decades ago and the 3 speeds were tossed. Finding these original 3 speed transmissions today is a very difficult task, especially these Corvette ony transmissions with the shifter mount on the tailhousing. Don't miss this hard to find transmission. This is a real deal Corvette Saginaw 3 speed transmission. The main case is casting number 3845122 and has a casting date of G 12 56. The tailhousing is casting number is 3737067 and has a casting date of E 20 6.   The side cover has casting number 3845044.   All components look original to this transmission and in good condition as shown. This transmission is in good original condition as shown. It looks to be totally original.   I see no breaks, repairs, or modifications to this transmission other than the shift levers look to be welded to the pivots as shown.   All mounting ears are in great shape with no cracks or welds.   This is simply an awesome factory Corvette transmission that has survived the test of time. I removed the side cover from the transmission to inspect the internals. The internals of this transmission look very nice with no pitting or corrosion.   Since this transmission is out of the car, it would be a good idea to replace the gaskets and possibly bearings or do a full rebuild to be on the safe side. This is a very nice OEM Corvette Saginaw 3 speed transmission that has never been abused or blown up.
